Winter Savings at Stevens Design
Stevens Design Team
Brad's great-grandfather founded McGilligan's Upholstery in 1917, and Brad managed the furniture shop for years before opening the current store in 2004. Stevens Design continues to be affiliated with McGilligan's, which does some of the finest reupholstery and custom upholstery work in Wisconsin.
After nearly 50 years of contract and residential design, I still love my work. My relationships with my clients are dear to me. I'm still working with my first residential client (1965!), "re-doing" her home for the third time. My mantra at McGilligan's was "a customer doesn't care what you know until they know that you care" and that still applies today.
Retirement? As long as my clients remain a priority, I'll continue to do what I love, working with them to achieve their dream.
My job is to successfully coordinate a space that meets or exceeds my client's desire, and I truly enjoy that challenge. Our gallery-like showroom at Stevens Design, with high quality product lines, attention to detail, and excellent customer service attracts very discerning clients. I enjoy the on-going relationships we're able to build with our customers.
I graduated with a four year degree in Interior Design, with a minor in Construction Management from Colorado State University. I passed the NCIDQ exam in 1989. I have worked extensively in both Commercial and Residential interior design.
I believe that every great design begins with listening to and understanding both my client's needs and wants. Then it is up to me, as the designer, to create the perfect space on schedule and within their budget. I love everything about design and my passion is always present in my work.
My degrees in Business, as well as in Interior Design, are invaluable in my position at Stevens Design.
I think the best part of design is listening to the excitement and expectation of my clients as we discuss their projects. I provide guidance with a keen sense of style and product knowledge to make their wishes a reality. I just love it when an entire plan comes together to meet their needs and desires.
I have a degree in Interior Design, I'm proud to say that I have had the pleasure of working in Madison, Wisconsin for the past 30 years.
After completing my internship at Stevens Design, it confirmed my passion to continue my education in acquiring my Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on Interior Design. I was fortunate enough to study abroad in Europe, for a semester, where I was able to emerge myself in beautiful architecture and fabulous design. Throughout my education, I kept in touch with Stevens Design (showing persistence) and am grateful to have become a part of our design team.
In my design work, I enjoy applying my influence from Europe with my current interior design experiences. By combining my fresh ideas with my education, this has contributed to my success. Creating a current, sophisticated space, tailored to fit an individual’s needs is very important to me. I listen to a client’s needs, use of space, budget and overall goals to achieve ultimate synergy while we work together to create a space, that you’ve always dreamed of. I get great satisfaction when I have completed a project, and it exceeds the client’s expectations.
With my fresh ideas, eye for design, and attention to detail, I would be excited to assist with your next project and I look forward to meeting you!
Shane grew up in the furniture business. He worked alongside his father, as a second generation master finisher and furniture repair person. In 1995 Shane moved from Denver, Colorado to Madison, Wisconsin. He responded to an ad we had placed in the Wisconsin State Journal. Shane's strong work ethic, attention to detail and his inherent talents were very apparent to us. Shane was hired on the spot by McGilligan's. In 2005 Stevens Design opened its doors with a focus on bringing excellence to our customers. In order to better service our customers, we have on two occasions flown Shane out to the Stickley factory in New York. There he received training on repairing techniques that are unique to the craftsmanship of Stickley furniture.*
